Recently, I discovered the teachings of
Master Shi Heng Yi—a Shaolin monk, martial arts master, and guide at Shaolin Temple, Europe whose wisdom on mindfulness, self-discipline, and conquering mental barriers deeply resonated with me.
His words made me reflect: Am I living from fear, or am I truly living—ready to experience life fully, no matter the challenges?
Growing up with Indian parents, I saw how their protective love often prioritized safety over exploration. Their instinct was to steer us toward certainty, away from uncertainty, yet that very certainty can limit who we’re meant to become.
Key Take Aways:
Fear locks us in comfort’s cage—but growth demands we rattle the bars. The magic happens not when fear disappears, but when we say, ‘I see you, and I’m moving anyway.'
True growth lives in the unknown, in those trembling moments when we choose to step forward despite the fear. It's not about being unafraid; it's about doing it scared.
Every act of courage is a rebellion against the limits fear tries to impose. The most profound transformations begin when we turn toward what terrifies us and we move forward anyway.
The Truth About Fear:
It locks doors, but growth picks the lock.
It shouts warnings, but courage whispers, ‘Proceed.’
It clings to ‘what if,’ but freedom lives in ‘what could be.’
The Path Forward:
Awareness: Realizing that we are in our comfort zone
Action: Taking one step at a time!
Integration: Welcome the unknown into your life until it becomes a habit.
All these practices help refine yourself. You take care of your body, you take care of your mind. It's not just the outside that matters or external fixes - it comes from within. True change comes from within—not external fixes. What you feed yourself (food, thoughts, experiences) matters more than surface-level solutions.
Whatever made it possible for the incarnated sprit(a baby) to come to Earth, call it God, The Universe, this Power makes no mistakes. He is bringing existence to life and we are the one who have ideas about how this life is supposed to be a.k.a human ideas of a perfect life.
"Lack" is a human invention. We created the idea that something’s missing—but wholeness is already here.
Let's not outsource the power of living our life, building your life based on the circumstances that you have no control over but in truth, it rests in our own hands. Focus where your power actually lies—your choices, your efforts, your perspective. Rewire your mind!
This article was inspired by a compilation of Master Shi Heng Yi’s most powerful podcast moments—wisdom that moved me to put these thoughts to paper.
